After a lovely week off (no homework!), we got back feeling relaxed and happy. Mrs Bell explained the need to continue with the curriculum as she wants everyone to go to High Schools with confidence and good skills. The guided reading was from a book called, 'Kensuke's Kingdom', a book all Y6 children will read this term.
In maths we went over the written multiplication method as many children have not used it correctly in the SATs! After all, assessments are to find out gaps in learning. In the afternoon, we discussed targets for personal and social developement. Role play helped children to understand how everyone has to take responsibility for bullying problems. Bullies also need help as they obviously have problems of their own.
The 'confidence' walk was interesting. Everyone looked so much taller! Tomorrow, we will have Mr Brown teaching us in the morning as Mrs Bell is out on a course.
