Today Mrs Bell went along to find out what Garden Olympics was all about and what a lovely surprise she had! There were loads of different stalls, from ice-cream to facing painting. The main arena was full of garden displays from many different schools in Burton -on-Trent. Mrs Dost had kindly arrived early with Mrs Newton to set up the Victoria display. A few children had made the banner and paraded it for the school.
By the time Mrs Bell arrived, the school had been awarded GOLD for the use of recylable containers, SILVER for overall display and vegetables and BRONZE for their art work. The display looked brilliant! Gradually more children and families arrived; it was good to be able to say 'hello' to them.

Laches Wood Assembly
Today (26th June 2009), we had a special assembly to share what we did when we were at OEC - Outdoor education Centre. Mrs Harrison, Mrs Goodwin and Mrs Anderson from Burton-on-Trent Lions Club came along to see it. They are the people who kindly donated £287 towards the expenses for our trip. This made the cost to the parents less by £30.00.
Everyone enjoyed the assembly, which also included some of the photos. We ran out of time for the video, but Mrs Fearn said we could see it on Monday. It was good to see so many parents there.
Thank you, parents for supporting us.

Preparing for Assembly
On Friday we will be holding our special assembly about our trip to Laches Wood. Mrs Bell is busy using the thoughts people had on Monday, along with the lovely letters they wrote to get the assembly started. We will all read this through and add more to it on Wednesday. By Friday, we should have a complete assembly to share.
We just seem SO busy!
