Assessment Week

This week it is assessment week, which gives teachers the opportunity to find out strengths and weaknesses in learning. The results help them to plan the next steps of learning. Miss Akhtar and Mrs Shankly got the room ready during assembly. The first test was mental maths. Some children did better than expected and some struggled a little. The staff will combine the marks with the written tests to get a level.
After play it was the longer written test; a diary entry about an outing. Mrs Bell is looking forward to marking it to find out if children have used complex sentences and powerful words.
On Tuesday we shall do
maths and the shorter writing.

Afternoons will be for more work on the archipelago. It will be great when the display is ready to share with other people.
