Playground and Eid Picnic

Well, what a week it has been! Most children had a day off for Eid on Monday. Staff had a busy day in school. This was followed by a the Playground Opening. It was wonderful to see so many parents. The Abbot Beyne Rock band were brilliant and of course, it was fantastic to see the manager of Burton Albion at Victoria. Children busily got autographs, some on arms!

Year 5 and 6 did activities to help the afternoon run smoothly. Then on Thursday most children from Y6 and 12 from Y5 went to Safeside. "The best trip ever", Jasmin from Y5 told her mother. Mrs Bell stayed in school but wished she had gone as she heard so many good things about it. A lot of 'stay safe' learning was done by pupils.

The week ended with the Y6 introduction meeting for parents and children. The Y6 staff were impressed with the concentration from all the children. They are now clear about the expectations in their final year at Victoria.

Hi, Anum nice to hear from you. Eid worked out really well this time as everyone had Monday off but were back to normal schooling on Tuesday. Many of the staff wore their new clothes and looked beautiful. The dinner supervisors bought in food and had an Eid party lunch in the staffroom on Thursday. The food was delicious.
By half term, you will feel much more settled, Anum. My son has gone to university and he has started to miss home and his old friends after a nice week of meeting new people. Like you, he is having to adjust to new things.
Have a great weekend.
Love from,
Mrs Bell x

I miss my old Y6 loads, and it's always nice when they come to say 'hello' and write on the Blog. This week, Azeema came running to see me - it was great to see her. I have seen Imaani walking to school and that's lovely as she is so grown up. I went to Klaudia's house to give her her vouchers and gifts - she was very pleasant and I think she was pleased to see me. Have a good week, my old class!

Thank you, Anum for your message. It looks like you have settled down very well at your new school. I am so glad I started the Blog as it has helped ex-pupils to keep in touch and will help all my current pupils too.it's good to have fond memories of things you did at Victoria as it was an important part of your life.
Take care, and have a lovely weekend.
