LAST DAY IN YEAR 6!

Today was the final day. and the Leavers Assembly at 9.15. Mrs Bell was quite nervous because the practise on Thursday afternoon had not been very good! However, the assembly went really well with many children and staff in tears by the end! Mrs Bell has her sunglasses to hide the evidence (not that it worked) and Miss Akhtar left the hall for a few minutes. The Roatary Club came and presented Fahad and Klaudia with special gifts - Fahad for being a resilient pupil who despite all his difficulties has achieved well and Klaudia who came to our school in Y3 with no English but got THREE level 5s!
We had a rounders match at 11 and then a party in the afternoon. Children helped to clear the classroom and wondered where the whole year had gone. Soon it was time to say 'Goodybye' and a few more tears (and that was just the staff!). Many parents came to say thank you to Mrs Bell and Miss Akhtar.
The Year 6 staff have really enjoyed teaching this class and will miss them BUT know that they have plenty of life skills to help them in their next steps. THANK YOU 6 B, you are a brilliant class. Good luck in Y7; have a great holiday first!

Hello, Hannah, the last day is always strange for me too, but harder because of teaching Y6 this time. It has been good but I am sure you will be just as happy at High School. It is difficult leaving after such a long and happy time at Victoria. You have your sisters supporting you so enjoy that.
But first have a great holiday. I am so tired today, but am sure I will feel better by Monday, when I go and move into Mr Rees' much smaller room!
Take care, Hannah.

Haroon, the year went really fast and the last day was a mixture of emotion and strangeness. Miss Akhtar will fully understand why you didn't manage a hug for her - send her a virtual one, by the BLOG. I'll text her to ask her to read this (will that be ok?).
We all had a great year, and everyone grew up gradually. Keep the learning, Haroon, not just the academic version but the life skills (how to manage emotions and difficult days) and you will do well. You are a very clever boy, just remember that.
Mrs Bell, who will miss her first ever Y6 class. x

Anum, I bet your ears look brilliant! Good idea to wait until the holidays to have them pierced. The Year 6 team have been grea tthis year, and I will miss all the children too. This Blog is here to stay, so as long as people write on it (so many have already!), then I will keep looking at it and responding.
You have been great at keeping in touch Anum - do keep me up to date with your news. Have a lovely day tomorrow, on your first day off! I am working for the first 3 days.

Hello everybody, I have been reading some of the messages on the blog and wanted to reply to you. It's great that you're keeping in touch through the blog (it's better than texting!!!). I will be on it everyday now that's for sure!

Hope you're all enjoying the beginning of the holidays, i saw hassan twice today, and he gave me half a smile so he hasn't forgotten me yet. Remember to make the most of the holidays, they will go pretty fast! It's really nice of Mrs Bell to keep the blog going for ongoing support - so remember we're only a blog away.

Lots of love Miss Akhtar xxx
